Private Client Project

A luxury event experience designed for both the guests and the people making it happen.

A custom digital experience for a private milestone celebration, combining an editorial guest-facing website with a secure planning dashboard and RSVP workflow.

What began as a polished digital event preview evolved into a complete guest and planning platform. The finished experience combines editorial visual design, centralized guest management, invitation workflows, RSVP tools, budgeting, vendor tracking, and private creative planning.

Identifying details, event information, and guest data have been modified to protect client privacy.

Overview

One product serving two very different audiences.

I designed and developed a private digital experience for a milestone celebration. The project needed to create a memorable first impression for guests while also giving the planning team a centralized place to manage the operational details behind the event.

Rather than relying on disconnected spreadsheets, forms, notes, and messages, the platform brings the guest experience and internal planning workflow into one cohesive system.

The Challenge

Elevated for guests. Practical for planners.

The client wanted something more elevated and personalized than a traditional event website. The guest-facing experience needed to feel luxurious, modern, and mobile-friendly without becoming difficult to navigate.

Behind the scenes, the planning team also needed a practical way to manage guest interest, invitation decisions, household sizes, RSVPs, budgets, vendors, tasks, and creative direction.

The challenge was creating two connected experiences:

  1. A beautiful and simple public experience for guests.
  2. A functional private workspace for the planning team.

The Solution

An editorial microsite paired with a private command center.

I created a responsive editorial microsite paired with a private planning dashboard.

The public experience introduces the event concept, attire direction, key details, and guest-interest form. The private workspace manages the guest pipeline, invitations, RSVPs, budget, vendors, tasks, moodboard, and planning decisions.

The system was designed to grow with the event. Guests can move from initial interest to invitation approval and eventually to a secure RSVP workflow without creating disconnected or duplicate records.

Designing the Guest Journey

Each stage preserves both guest clarity and host control.

  1. 01Interested
  2. 02Reviewed
  3. 03Invited
  4. 04Attending / Declined

Joining the interest list does not automatically make someone an invited guest. The planning team reviews each submission before moving the person into the official invitation list. Existing contact information carries forward, reducing duplicate entry while preserving control over the final guest list.

For couple and household invitations, the host can define the number invited and enter each named guest before the invitation becomes RSVP-eligible.

Privacy by Design

Privacy was treated as a product requirement, not a finishing step.

Because the platform manages private event and guest information, privacy was treated as a core product requirement rather than an afterthought.

The public form was limited to submission-only access. Guests cannot view other submissions or administrative records. Guest information, invitation details, and RSVP responses are stored separately from the public-facing interface.

The system also separates the guest preview experience from the private planning workspace and avoids exposing privileged database credentials in browser code.

  • Submission-only public forms
  • Protected planning workspace
  • Separate guest and administrative workflows
  • Database-level access controls
  • Private-by-default guest-list visibility
  • No public exposure of contact information

Visual Direction

Editorial atmosphere for guests, operational clarity for planners.

The visual identity was designed to feel editorial, celebratory, and luxurious without becoming overly formal. The interface combines ivory, champagne, black, glass-inspired surfaces, soft motion, and refined typography.

The guest-facing pages use animation and atmospheric details to create a sense of occasion, while the planning dashboard uses a cleaner, more operational layout for clarity and speed.

Design Principles

The visual and operational experiences were designed as one product.

01

Editorial, Not Generic

A distinctive visual experience rather than a standard event template.

02

Luxury Without Friction

Elevated styling paired with clear, accessible interactions.

03

Beautiful Outside, Practical Inside

A guest experience and planning system designed as one connected product.

Designed for Every Screen

Mobile was not a reduced version of the experience.

The experience was designed mobile-first because most guests would access it from a text message or social link. Layouts, typography, forms, guest controls, and invitation workflows were tested and adapted for phones, tablets, and desktop screens.

Outcome

A private event concept became a complete digital product.

The finished platform transformed a private event concept into a complete digital product.

Guests receive a polished and cohesive introduction to the celebration, while the planning team can manage the work required to move people from initial interest through invitation and RSVP.

The project demonstrates how thoughtful visual design and practical workflow development can coexist within the same experience.
